Acceptable Use Policy

This policy establishes the rules for ethical, lawful, and responsible use of VECERT Foundation technologies, tools, platforms, APIs, and public cybersecurity resources.

1. Purpose

VECERT Foundation is committed to promoting the ethical, lawful, and responsible use of cybersecurity technologies.

This Acceptable Use Policy establishes the rules governing access to and use of the VECERT Foundation website, Analyzer Pro 360, public cybersecurity tools, educational resources, research platforms, APIs, and any other services provided by the Foundation.

By accessing or using our Services, you agree to comply with this Policy.

2. Our Mission

VECERT Foundation develops cybersecurity technologies exclusively to strengthen digital resilience, support education, protect critical organizations, and advance cybersecurity research.

Our technologies are intended solely for defensive and legitimate purposes.

Users may use our Services for purposes including:

  • Academic research
  • Incident investigation
  • Malware analysis

4. Prohibited Activities

Users may not use our Services to engage in the following:

  • Illegal activities or facilitation of cybercrime.
  • Unauthorized penetration testing or vulnerability scanning.
  • Credential harvesting or password attacks.
  • Malware deployment or botnet activity.
  • Distributed Denial of Service activity.
  • Exploitation of systems without authorization.
  • Identity theft, financial fraud, social engineering, phishing campaigns, business email compromise, cryptocurrency fraud, or impersonation.
  • Excessive automated requests, rate-limit circumvention, disruption of service availability, reverse engineering of platform functionality, or interference with other users.

5. Analyzer Pro 360

Organizations granted access to Analyzer Pro 360 agree to use the platform exclusively for legitimate defensive cybersecurity purposes, maintain appropriate internal access controls, protect login credentials, report suspected compromise, and comply with all licensing requirements.

Analyzer Pro 360 may not be used to target unauthorized third parties.

6. Public Cybersecurity Tools

Public tools are intended to improve cybersecurity awareness and defensive decision-making.

Users are responsible for ensuring they have appropriate authorization before analyzing systems, domains, IP addresses, files, or other digital assets that do not belong to them.

7. Artificial Intelligence

Some Services may incorporate AI-assisted analysis, summaries, classifications, or recommendations.

Users agree not to manipulate AI outputs for deceptive purposes, generate misinformation, use AI-generated content to facilitate cybercrime, or misrepresent AI-generated findings as official certifications.

8. Responsible Research

VECERT Foundation supports responsible cybersecurity research.

Researchers are encouraged to act ethically, respect applicable laws, avoid unnecessary disruption, and report vulnerabilities responsibly.

9. Protection of Vulnerable Communities

Our Services may not be used to target:

  • Hospitals
  • Educational institutions
  • Humanitarian organizations
  • Nonprofits
  • Government agencies
  • Critical infrastructure
  • Emergency services
  • Vulnerable populations

10. Monitoring

To protect our Services and users, VECERT Foundation may:

  • Monitor platform activity.
  • Detect abuse.
  • Investigate suspicious behavior.
  • Limit automated activity.
  • Suspend accounts engaged in prohibited conduct.
  • Monitoring is conducted in accordance with applicable laws and our Privacy Policy.

11. Enforcement

Violations of this Policy may result in:

  • Warning notices
  • Temporary suspension
  • Permanent account termination
  • Revocation of institutional licenses
  • Blocking of IP addresses
  • Removal of submitted content
  • Reporting to appropriate authorities where required by law

12. Reporting Abuse

Suspected misuse of VECERT Foundation Services may be reported to abuse@vecertfoundation.org or security@vecertfoundation.org.

All reports will be reviewed confidentially.

13. Policy Updates

This Acceptable Use Policy may be updated periodically.

The latest version will always be available on the VECERT Foundation website.
